Stirling, Stirlingshire (November 23, 2020) Integrated Graphene, one of Scotland’s most exciting start-up ventures and leading providers of commercially scalable 3D Graphene Foam, today announced the appointment of Chris Gauld as Chairman of its Board of Directors. Gauld, who joined following the recent completion of the company’s £3.1m series A funding, will head up the board as it proceeds with their ambitious plans for expansion over the next few years. They hope that his exceptional experience in scaling fast-growing SME alongside venture, PE and trade investors, will help guide the business to achieve its potential.

Chris arrives with significant entrepreneurial experience helping emerging businesses develop and was previously co-founder and CEO of a challenger energy group, disrupting the heavily regulated utility industry and growing to £230m in revenue with a team of 450 people. An Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the year winner, Gauld featured in Sunday Times Fast Track, Top Track, Profit Track and the FT1000 in consecutive years. In 2018 he exited the domestic market selling the energy operations, broadband and digital business to a unicorn energy technology firm.

“I am incredibly proud to be joining Integrated Graphene at this stage in the company’s development and extremely excited to help the team achieve the enormous potential that we and our investors see ahead. There are many exciting applications and a massive demand for the right high-quality, pure graphene solution. Integrated Graphene’s pure 3D Foam has exciting potential well beyond its beachhead markets in human diagnostics and graphene supercapacitors, the potential is almost limitless.”

Chief Executive Officer Claus Marquordt said the following about the appointment of Gauld. “This is a significant time for the organisation, I am excited for what the future holds under Chris’ guidance. Chris brings a wealth of entrepreneurial and technology success as well as strategic vision to our organisation and is the right cultural fit to chair the Board. He has strong credibility both within the business and with all our key stakeholders, which will be critical in our ability to scale and meet the growing demand for commercially scalable, high-quality graphene product applications.”
