Claus Marquordt
Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer
Claus has worked for 19 years in lab-on-a-chip (LOC) development and is an established innovator. Since 2001, as Development Leader in Industry, he became Managing Director of RD Support ApS in 2013 and increased turnover 5-fold to £1.5m by establishing RD Support as a one-stop-LOC (Lab-on-a-chip) company. In 2014, Claus founded RD Support Ltd in Stirling as RD Support’s R&D centre. After winning the Scottish Higgs Edge competition in December 2016, Claus founded RD Graphene Ltd to exploit the $1trn application market. In 2020, RD Graphene rebranded to Integrated Graphene to Integrated Graphene to mark the end of the stealth period and the rapid growth of this novel technology.

Marco Caffio
Co-Founder & Chief Scientific Officer
Marco has a MSc degree in Chemistry specialising in supra-molecular chemistry and interfaces and a PhD degree in Physical Chemistry specialising in surface science. Marco’s research interests focus on the physics and chemistry of two-dimensional materials (graphene), thin films, plasma polymers and nanoparticles. His most recent research activity focuses on their application in microfluidic systems, as multifunctional coating, Bio-nanotechnology, Biomedical Engineering and energy storage systems.

Douglas Bain
Chief Financial Officer
Douglas is a Big Four Chartered Accountant and Board Director with 30 years of UK and international experience.
At EY for nine years based in Scotland, Poland and the Netherlands, with particular focus on project finance, advisory and financial modelling. Since 2000, in a range of industry management roles across Technology, Oil & Gas, Energy, Manufacturing and Construction, in large corporates and in a number of SMEs, often with complex shareholder structures including private equity.

Jean-Christophe Granier
Chief Executive Officer
Jean-Christophe (JC), is an accomplished executive leader with a proven track record of success in advanced material manufacturing.
In his ten years at J&D Wilkie LTD, a technical textiles manufacturer, he successfully delivered a transformative strategic plan encompassing global expansion and new investment. His collaborative leadership philosophy ensured the business’ sustainability during rapidly changing market conditions, most notably the UK’s hard Brexit. Under his guidance, the company’s revenue increased by 30% in 12 months during its 150th year. His leadership was recognised for its trail-blazing influence – in 2019, JC won both the UK and Scottish EY Entrepreneur of the Year ‘Transformative Leader’ awards’.
Before this, he served as an Associate at Esslemont Cameron Gauld from 2003 – 2010 and Stronachs from 2010 until 2012.

Rebecca Reilly
Head of People and Programmes
Rebecca is a graduate of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Rebecca has spent 10 years of her career broadening and strengthening her experience. From technical contributor to operations leadership roles with world leading R&D and manufacturing organisations.
Rebecca is committed to lifelong learning and is undertaking her professional doctorate, furthering her exposure to leading interdisciplinary research within the business school setting, specialising in the future of work and employee wellbeing.

Tom O'Reilly
Director of Technology and Operations
Tom is an experienced leader, programme manager and innovator with over 20 years experience in medical device diagnostics from start-up through 10x growth, high-volume manufacturing and managing change through acquisition. He has a strong background in technical product design from concept through to product validation and transfer into high-volume low-cost manufacturing.
Tom has a mix of R&D and Supply Chain experience in highly regulated environments with a keen interest in intellectual property, design for manufacture, quality control and continuous improvement.

Pablo Lozano Sanchez
Head of Research and Product Development
Pablo is a Biotechnology professional with many years experience. Pablo has a strong background in Biosensors and Point-of-Care Diagnostics for food safety and human health.
Pablo made the long journey from academia to industry ticking every box on the way; basic research, project management, product management and head of R&D. Not missed start-up creation, technology transfer, IP management, consultancy, and QA&RA strong interactions.

Eric Hamilton
Commercial Director
Eric is a 28-year Semiconductor professional with national and international experience selling high end technology to many interesting market sectors and applications. Often the first person in a new territory, success allowed progression to hiring and coaching teams to penetrate new markets by challenging conventional thinking, selling innovation and driving sustainable long-term growth.
Eric was previously part of a European management team reporting to Silicon Valley HQ with country responsibility for UK, Ireland, Israel, Denmark and South Africa.

James Youell
Director of Business Development
An experienced biotechnology sales professional with a strong track record in international sales across life science, pharma and clinical sectors. In previous roles an ability to navigate and optimise complex technical sales processes was critical in both public and private institutions.
James’s sales experience is built on a strong research career in academia as a PhD qualified scientist, leading and project managing research across large multi-partner EU projects developing cutting edge technologies based on nano-tech and synthetic biology.

Chris Gauld
Chairman
Chris Gauld was co-founder and CEO of Spark, a business that would disrupt the heavily regulated utility industry, growing to £230m in revenue and a team of 450 people and featuring in Sunday Times Fast Track, Top Track, Profit Track and the FT1000 in consecutive years.
Through his one-11 consultancy, Chris now holds board and advisory roles at high growth, entrepreneur-led businesses across energy, technology and investment.
Chris was Entrepreneurial Scotland’s Emerging Entrepreneur in 2016 and went on to be named both regional and national Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year. In November 2020, Chris joined the Board at Integrated Graphene as Chairman.

Ewan McLellan
Non-Executive Director
Ewan McLellan is an experienced high-performing manager and consultant with Blue Chip organisations with consulting experience across multiple sectors. Formerly with Future Fibres and Cap Gemini Consulting, Ewan delivered high growth in a high technology environment, building and leading teams that over-delivered on company objectives. This included investing in R&D to develop, test and launch the highest performing carbon rigging product on the market. He is also the Chairman of UnikLasers Ltd and is an experienced Non-Exec Director across multiple sectors and company lifecycles.
Ewan’s appointment will further support the team in developing commercial relationships and manufacturing capability with clients whose next generation of products and devices performance will be transformed through the application of Integrated Graphene’s breakthrough technology.

Helen Adams
Non-Executive Director
Helen Adams has worked in commercial management in sectors across the microelectronics industry including hardware production, embedded software development tools, digital and analog IP and microprocessor design for over 30 years. She spent 11 years at ARM in Cambridge where, as Vice President, she ran the hugely successful sales teams in Europe and Asia.
Helen is also a regular contributor to panels and tech industry networking events and has a real passion for emerging technologies. She has acted both as a consultant and mentor for several technology start-ups helping them to develop their commercial strategies and product roadmaps.
Helen has a BSc.(Hons.) Environmental Chemistry and MSc Environmental Management with distinction.

Phil David
Advisory Board Member / Chair of the Intellectual Property Management Group
Phil David qualified as a Solicitor in 1992, joined ARM Limited (the operating company of ARM Holdings Plc) in 1994 and was appointed a director of ARM Limited and General Counsel in 2003. In 2014, Phil decided to concentrate on the Intellectual Property (IP) and became Senior Vice President of IP and Deputy General Counsel. Phil left ARM in 2018 after it was acquired by Softbank in 2016 and is currently advising technology start-ups. He has over 25 years of experience of the law and in particular the application of intellectual property law in the field of technology. Phil has a BSc in Biochemistry.
Phil has held advisory and non-executive director roles for a number of technology start-ups and is currently a non-executive director of CHS Group, a Cambridge based housing association.

Ray Gibbs
Advisory Board Member
Ray Gibbs is a chartered accountant who for 9 years was a business advisory and corporate finance partner with Deloitte. He moved into industry in 1996, joining FSTE 350 Defence Company Chemring Group plc as CFO. His industrial and main board experience over the past 25 years includes a number of high tech, advanced materials and FMCG businesses with sales ranging from £NIL to £500m.
For the past 12 years Ray has been immersed in the advanced materials (nanotechnology) world, having listed Haydale Graphene Industries plc in 2014 and positioned as a global leader in the commercialisation of graphene and advanced materials space. Ray is Chairman of the Joint Working Group on implementation of graphene standardisation between the UK and China. Also a member of the UAE-UK Business Council tasked with developing a bi-lateral trade increase of up to £10bn. Now heading up the Graphene commercialisation initiative at Manchester University, he is now also a member of GAMMA the Graphene Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Association.

Paul Wilson

Paul Wilson has worked at some of the biggest brands in the wireless, smart and IoT industries for over 10 years. Paul moved on from giants such as Blackberry and Wistron to share his knowledge and expertise in a variety of consulting and advisory positions.
Following a stint with Beringar, Paul joined Smart Things Accelerator STAC as the Chief Executive Officer with a mission to bring Scottish tech and IoT companies to the international state. Paul’s wealth of knowledge includes Smart Home, IoT and Med Tech products and building partnership eco-systems in wireless, cloud, data analytics as well as technology providers.

Calum Smeaton
Advisory Board Member
For the past two decades, Calum Smeaton has dedicated his professional life to starting and growing innovative software and e-commerce startups. Being entrenched in the world of data analytics for years, witnessing how data can transform an industry, Calum founded TVSquared in 2012 to bring state-of-the-art analytical capabilities to TV advertising.
Calum is recognised for building outstanding global teams; in fact, many of his employees have been with him for more than 10 years. Thriving on taking a company from idea to exit, he is regularly tapped by journalists, analysts and event organisers to discuss his unique management strategies and fervent belief that data-driven decisions need to be at the cornerstone of every business.
Before TVSquared, Calum was the CEO of Sumerian, a provider of big data analytics for retail and investment banks. He was also the co-founder and CTO of Orbital Software, which listed on the London Stock Exchange and merged with Sopheon PLC in 2001.

Peter Langley
Advisory Board Member
Peter Langley is the founder and managing director of Origin. Peter has a degree in physics and is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales, a Patent Attorney and a Trademark Attorney: voted one of UK’s top 40 technology lawyers.
Peter has advised many leading technology companies, including TomTom, TeleAtlas, ARM, Sharp, Symbian and Unilever, as well as VCs and start-ups. While focused on IP litigation, IP strategy and branding, he also has extensive experience in protecting software. Handled patents in: GPS sat nav, digital mapping, semiconductors, encryption, compact disc, mobile telephony, 3G, LTE, WI-Max, femtocell, real-time holography, mobile device operating systems, mobile device UX, video compression, anti-tamper software, website optimisation, cloud-based music systems, LCDs, voice recognition, FX trading, systematic trading algorithms and wave energy systems.
He and his team have managed major patent litigation across five countries; acquiring over $40M in patents for various clients in recent years; and negotiated IP cross-licenses with many of the major rights holders in the wireless, electronics and software sectors. He is also a visiting Professorial Fellow in Law at the Centre for Digital Music, Queen Mary College, London University.
