INTEGRATED GRAPHENE APPOINTS NEW CEO: Jean-Christophe Granier takes the reins as the company goes for global growth

United Kingdom, 16 October 2023 – Integrated Graphene, the company behind Gii™, a three-dimensional, carbon-based nanomaterial, with the intrinsic properties of graphene but none of its scaleup challenges, has appointed Jean-Christophe Granier as its Chief Executive Officer.

Newly appointed CEO of Integrated Graphene, Jean-Christophe Garnier

Jean-Christophe, an experienced leader with a proven track record in advanced material manufacturing, joins Integrated Graphene from J&D Wilkie, a global textile technology company, where he served nearly 11 years, most recently as CEO.

At Integrated Graphene, Jean-Christophe has a clear mandate to enhance the business’s commercial performance and to tap into numerous high-value addressable markets worldwide.  Having established the proven production and widespread application of Gii™ at scale, the company is now strategically well positioned to accelerate its operations. Jean-Christophe is highly experienced in successfully scaling businesses and is prepared for this new challenge.

Commenting on his appointment, Jean-Christophe Granier said: “We are going to change the world with Gii™”. Graphene is a remarkable material but producing it at scale has always been its Achilles heel. With Gii™, we solve this problem. We can produce Gii™ in commercial quantities and sustainably – with low energy and waste, and no toxic chemicals.

“Having seen the tangible results of our patented manufacturing process and technology firsthand and having listened to excited feedback from our customers about the transformative benefits Gii™ will bring when integrated with their products, I am confident that we have the potential to make a world-changing impact.”

An example of the company’s successfully commercialised application of Gii™ is in the healthcare sector. Gii™ has been integrated into biosensor technology, offering affordable at-home diagnostic kits that provide laboratory-level precision testing. The potential to identify and diagnose a multitude of conditions early, ranging from cancer to heart failure, holds the promise of being life-changing for millions of individuals.

Jean-Christophe Granier added: “We have a real opportunity to transform at-home diagnostic testing. After market analysis and partnering with innovators, we’ve fine-tuned our material. Now, we are ready to rapidly produce Gii™ at scale to meet customer demand. And we’re not stopping there. I’m excited to bring our material and technology to market in new and impactful ways soon.”

Commenting on the appointment, Claus Marquordt, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer said, “Jean-Christophe’s impressive track record in growing an advanced materials business will be invaluable to Integrated Graphene as we continue our scale-up journey.”

“His strong knowledge and experience of overseeing global manufacturing and selling to international markets will be essential. Co-founder Marco Caffio, and I are delighted he has joined us at this exciting next stage in the company’s growth”.

The company has developed a customer base for Gii™ spanning across Asia-Pacific to the Americas, encompassing regions such as Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, the European Union, United Kingdom and United States.

Earlier this year, Integrated Graphene doubled its footprint in response to growing global demand for Gii™. This expansion allowed the company to enhance its research and development capabilities and bolster production capacity.
